N.C. 54 In Morrisville Closed; Will Affect Morning Commute

Some morning commuters will have to take an alternate route to work Wednesday morning. The Department of Transportation has closed a section of N.C. 54 at Airport Boulevard in Morrisville due to a water main break

According to the DOT, traffic is being detoured over McCrimmon Parkway, Church Street, and Morrisville-Carpenter Road. Airport Boulevard traffic should use McCrimmon Parkway and N.C. 54.

The water main broke Tuesday morning, but it took crews a while to track down the exact spot, backing up afternoon rush hour traffic for miles.

Repairs are expected to take at least 24 hours.
