Beltline Backup Delays Lunchtime Traffic

A major accident caused some big problems for lunchtime drivers on the inner loop of the 440 Beltline. A dumptruck overturned near the Yonkers Road exit and had traffic backed up to at least Wake Forest Road for over and hour.

The accident occurred just after noon Friday. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver of the truck, believed to be a female, was transported to a hospital.

At 1 p.m., crews were working to clear the road. The truck did not appear to be hauling anything.
