State Commits $65 Million to Farm Aid

Help has arrived for many farmers hit by devastating flooding.

In the past few weeks, the state has committed $65 million to farmers who lost crops and livestock in the flooding.

Many farmers did not have crop insurance when the muddy floodwaters rose. The state money pays back only pennies to the dollar, but farmers like Gerald Tyner say every little bit helps.

"You'd rather use cash money than you would to pay interest on borrowed money anytime," Tyner says.
