Raleigh Teen Assaulted With Baseball Bat

A Raleigh man has been charged with attempted murder after striking a person in the head with an aluminum baseball bat on Saturday, police said.

Raleigh police said 21-year-old Eden Adonay Benegas assaulted the victim -- 19-year-old Sandy Jose Caceres Garcia -- at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of an apartment complex located off of

Calumet Drive

.

Police said the men lived near each other and near the parking lot where the assault took place.

On Sunday, Garcia was listed in critical condition at WakeMed.
