Some N.C. Residents May Receive Money In Insurance Settlement

Thousands of North Carolinians may be entitled to money from an insurance settlement.

State officials said Liberty Life Insurance Company charged African-Americans higher premiums than people of other races.

Policies bought as early as 1910 and as late as 1991 are covered by the lawsuit. In many cases, the policies had a small face value.
