Woman Arrested For Concealing Birth Of Her Baby

A Lenoir County woman faces charges for hiding the birth of a child, a felony that could put her in jail for up to a year if convicted.

Police in LaGrange arrested Brenda Patterson, 42, of Dover, after she gave birth to a stillborn child, but did not report it.

Authorities say a fetus was found last Thursday in an apartment and that an investigation led to Patterson.

Officers took Patterson to the hospital for an examination and arrested her immediately after she was released.
