Raleigh Officials, Preservation Group At Odds Over Mordecai House

It houses five generations of 18th and 19th century furniture, and now it is now the centerpiece of a debate.

The city of Raleigh and Capital Preservation are sparring over the furnishings inside the Mordecai house.

Capital Preservation wants a yearly fee to keep up the furnishings it has restored. Meanwhile, the city wants the furnishings donated.

The Mordecai House was built in 1785 and illustrates some of Raleigh's early history.
