Eight-Foot Boa On Loose In Johnston County

An 8-foot boa constrictor is on the loose in Pine Level.

The snake escaped from its owner in May. Animal control officers searched the woods behind the home in the Graham Landing subdivision, but they did not find anything.

The boa is reddish-brown with a bright scarlet tail. Animal control officers say it is not poisonous, but it does bite.

If you spot the snake, do not approach it. You should call 911 immediately.
