Three Men Arrested In Wake County Counterfeiting Bust

The Wake County Sheriff's Office has arrested three people in connection with a counterfeiting operation.

On June 2, as part of a follow-up investigation into a case deputies had been working on involving counterfeit money being passed in Wake County, investigators with the Wake County Sheriff's Office, the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, and the U.S. Secret Service searched a house on Battle Bridge Road in Raleigh.

Authorities arrested three men: Jonathan Christopher Tilton, 18, of Battle Bridge Road, Taylor Allen Carlyle, 19, of Auburn Knightdale Road and Boyd Irwyn Atkinson III, 21 of Winchester Drive in Wendell.

The three men were arrested on a number of charges, which included conspiracy to manufacture counterfeit instruments, possession of counterfeit instruments possession of stolen goods and simple possession of marijuana.

Tilton's bond was set for $150,000, Carlyle's and Atkinson's bond was set at $75,000.
