Local Man Charged For Taking Money For Work He Never Did

A man once investigated by WRAL-TV's "Five on Your Side" now faces charges.

Last June, WRAL-TV talked to a homeowner who paid Billy Wayne Privette more than $500 to have trees removed from her yard. Privette never did the work.

Now Raleigh police have charged Privette for taking $2,500 for tree removal services he never completed. The charges involve separate incidents than the one aired on WRAL-TV.

Police said Privette has an extensive criminal background.
