Sampson School Bus Driver, Student Injured In Accident

A Sampson County school bus driver may have saved 13 Hargrove Elementary students from serious injury.

Troopers say the driver of a pickup truck fell asleep Tuesday, crossed the center line on Highway 701 and hit the bus.

The bus driver swerved just enough to avoid a head-on collision. She and one child had minor injuries.

The pickup driver broke his leg and will be charged with reckless driving.
