Cary Man Hurt After Motorcycle Collides With Car

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after colliding with a car Wednesday night in Cary.

Around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Gary Frank Futrell, 38, of Cary was riding his motorcycle on Walnut street near the intersection of Buck Jones Road.

Police said Jose Alberto Santa Maria-Mejia was driving in the opposite direction and turned to enter a shopping center. Futrell then hit Santa Maria-Mejia's car.

Santa Maria-Mejia, of 600 Apartment 3-U Charleston Road, Raleigh, received a citation for failure to yield.

Futrell is in critical condition at WakeMed in Raleigh.
