Three Finalists Named In Search For Durham City Manager

Durham Mayor Bill Bell released the names of the finalists for the city manager position Wednesday.

Those in contention are:

Patrick Baker, current Durham interim city manager

Charles Penny, assistant city manager of Rocky Mount, N.C.

David Thompson, chief operating and financial officer of Freeman White Inc., an architectural and engineering firm in Charlotte.

A fourth candidate, William Harrell, withdrew his name after being named the interim chief administrative officer of Richmond, Va., on Tuesday.

The public is invited to meet the candidates during a forum at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 in City Council Chambers at 101 City Hall Plaza.
