Authorities in Hoke County have made an arrest in the death of a convenience store worker.

Rashean McPhatter, 20, is charged with first-degree murder. The Sheriff's Office said McPhatter shot Steve Stuart during a robbery at Daniel's Quick Stop in Raeford on Nov. 27.

The arrest brings some closure to Mary Stuart, Steve's wife.

"One day, I want to look into this eyes and tell him what he has done to my family. He has destroyed my world," she said.

Stuart remembers her husband as a devoted family man, a person who would do anything for anyone. They had been married 22 years.
