Raleigh Officer Arrested On DWI Charges

A Raleigh Police Department officer was arrested on DWI charges early Thursday morning.

Officer E.M. Cudmore was off duty and driving a privately owned vehicle when he was stopped near the intersection of Millbrook Road and Newberry Drive by Raleigh Police Department officers on routine patrol at 2:45 a.m.

Cudmore has been on patrol-duty with the department since May 14, 2004. His job status is unknown. The arrest is under investigation by the department.

Raleigh Police Department policy says that officers could be fired if they drive impaired.
