North Carolina Central University is waiting on approval from the state to reopen two dorms after a problem with mold.

State inspectors are making their final pass through two NCCU dorms to make sure everything is up to code.

Toxic black mold shut the dorms down last August. Hundreds of students were forced to stay in area hotels.

The state spent more than $6 million cleaning up the mess.
