Second Suspect Arrested in PlayStation Theft
A second suspect was arrested in connection with a stolen PlayStation 3 case in Wilmington that ended in the death of a Durham teen.
A second suspect was arrested in connection with a stolen PlayStation 3 case in Wilmington that ended in the death of a Durham teen.
According to court records, Braden Delaney Riley, 21, of Apex, was arrested Monday and charged with armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
Court records indicate that Riley, along with Ryan David Mills, 20, of Durham, and Peyton Brooks Strickland, 18, of Durham, were listed as suspects in the Nov. 17 incident in which they allegedly assaulted a UNC-Wilmington student and stole two of the game consoles, estimated to be worth more than $1,200, from him.
Strickland was shot multiple times on Dec. 1 when New Hanover County sheriff's deputies served a warrant for his arrest. He died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to an autopsy report.
Witnesses said Strickland was unarmed during the shooting. The New Hanover County district attorney and State Bureau of Investigation are looking into the case to see if the shooting was justifiable.
