Early Morning Fire Destroys Hillsborough Restaurant

Fire gutted a restaurant in Hillsborough Wednesday morning.

Only the frame is left of the Heartland Steakhouse on Highway 86 South, near Interstate 85.

The Orange County fire marshal said the fire started in the rear of the building just after 5 a.m.

About 50 firefighters from six departments battled the blaze.

No one was inside the restaurant and no one was injured.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
