Grand Jury Indicts Raleigh Man On Charges From High-Speed Chase

A Raleigh man once accused of murdering a YMCA couselor faces a new round of charges.

A Wake County grand jury indicted Derrick Bell on charges related to a high-speed chase last month.

Raleigh police say Bell was a passenger in a Camaro when they tried to make a traffic stop. They say Bell jumped into the driver's lap and took control of the car.

After crashing the car, he tried to run away, but police arrested him a few mintues later.

Bell had been arrested in connection with the death of YMCA counselor Pierre Williams. However, charges against Bell in that case were dismissed.
