Second Suspect Sought in Durham Robbery, Shooting

Police in Durham are looking for a second suspect in a weekend shooting that left two teenagers wounded.

Investigators said Kenneth Anthony Cox, 18, is wanted on robbery charges in connection with a robbery and double shooting Saturday night on Sedgefield Street.

Cox is charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police said he has not been charged in connection with the shootings.

Durham police were dispatched to a disturbance with a weapon call at a house in the 1000 block of Sedgefield Street at 7:23 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found two teenagers who had suffered gunshot wounds.

Police said Marcus Jones, 19, of Durham, suffered a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to Duke University Medical Center for treatment. Jaquienton Sellars, 17, of Hillsborough, suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

Investigators believe the shootings occurred during a robbery.

Police arrested 19-year-old Jerry Lamont Cox Saturday night. He was charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. His bond was set at $150,000.

The suspects are brothers.
