Former Wendell Finance Officer Charged With Embezzlement

The former finance officer of Wendell is now charged with stealing money from the town.

Barbara Raper had been the finance officer for 30 years. She resigned in November after being placed on administrative leave.

Police said the 70-year-old embezzled more than $83,000 dating back to January 2000.

Raper is being held in jail on a $250,000 bond.
