Moore County Man Accused Of Animal Cruelty Appears In Court

A Moore County man accused of animal cruelty was in court for the first time Wednesday.

Police in Pinehurst say Chris Davis stuffed nine newborn puppies into a garbage bag, then threw the bag into a Dumpster.

A passerby heard the puppies whimpering and pulled them out. All the puppies have since been adopted.

Davis had his first court date to hear the charges against him. He told WRAL that he has no comment.

Davis will be back in court Aug. 13.
