A second teen has died from injuries suffered in a Johnston County car crash.

Alyssa Heider, 13, an incoming freshman at West Johnston High School, died Saturday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.

Emily Mya, 16, a rising junior, died Wednesday evening at University of North Carolina Hospitals. Melissa Ann Willis, 16, also a rising junior, was listed in serious condition Saturday at Duke University Medical Center.

All three were members of the school's girls volleyball team.

The wreck occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday at Elevation Road and Raleigh Road in the McGees Crossroads community, authorities said.

Willis was driving a red convertible back to school after a volleyball team outing at a lake, ran a stop sign and collided with a white pickup truck, which overturned, authorities said. Both vehicles ended up in a field nearby. The pickup driver was not seriously injured.

A prayer service was held for the three teens on Thursday evening at the church where Heider's family attends. A candlelight vigil was held for Mya at West Johnston's football game on Friday evening.
