Lenovo

has signed an agreement with one of the largest distributors in the U.S. as part of its drive to increase computer sales to small- and medium-sized businesses.

Lenovo, the new parent of the former IBM personal computer division, reached the distributing deal with D&H Distributing. The firm is based in Harrisburg, PA, and has five distribution sites around the country.

D&H will promote Lenovo desktop and laptop machines to its valued-added resellers. D&H also puts on seminars, trade shows, and offers hands-on training sessions for business customers.

"Lenovo-branded products are a great platform for the VAR community to offer its SMB customers," said Michael Schwab, vice president of purchasing at D&H Distributing. "The product line's worry-free attributes make perfect sense for our resellers, who have grown to appreciate that extra level of support and capability. Lenovo's products will present our customers with a globally-recognized brand, complete with the appeal of an easy-sell set of features."

D&H, an 85-year-old company, was named 2006 Distributor of the Year by Digital Connect.
