Strong Storms Trigger Severe Weather Alerts

Several counties in central North Carolina were under a severe weather watch or warning Monday afternoon, but no major damage was reported.
Strong storms were moving through the central part of the state around 4:30 p.m.
Areas in the watch zones were forecast to see wind gusts in excess of 58 mph, very heavy rain, and frequent intense lightning, the National Weather Service said.
Dime-sized hail was reported near Deerborn Drive and Club Road in Durham, according to the National Weather Service.
There were no immediate reports of damage from the weather.
