SBI Investigates Former Johnston Elections Director

The State Bureau of Investigation is now looking into possible criminal charges against a former Johnston County director of elections.

Authorities said Teresa Davis recently admitted embezzling $6,000 from the county board of elections over the past five years.

Davis resigned and said she will pay back the money.

The case was turned over to the district attorney's office, who then asked the SBI to investigate.
