Durham Police Seek Suspect In Kidnapping, Rape, Robbery

Durham police investigators are looking for 26-year-old Antonio "Tony" Harris, who has been charged with breaking into an apartment on Naples Place and sexually assaulting and robbing the resident.

The resident told investigators that a man armed with a knife broke into her apartment shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday, then raped her and stole her cell phone and wallet.

Warrants have been issued charging Harris with first-degree rape, first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Harris, whose address is unknown, is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 196 pounds. He frequents the areas of Naples Place, Kendrick Circle and the West End.

Harris is out on bond awaiting trial on charges of second-degree kidnapping, assault on a law-enforcement officer, resisting arrest, communicating threats and tampering with emergency equipment.
