Man Charged With Assaulting Boy On Airplane

A Southwest Airlines plane leaving Raleigh-Durham International Airport had to turn back to the gate late last week to have a man arrested for allegedly assaulting a 3-year-old boy.

Authorities charged Brian Wood with simple assault and removed him from the flight.

The mother of the boy said Wood grabbed her son's leg three times until he cried.

According to a Wake County magistrate, Wood said he was just trying to entertain the child, who was already fussing.

Wood was released from jail without bond.
