NCSU Officials Make Arrest In 2001 Theft

The North Carolina State University campus police on Tuesday arrested 24-year-old John Edgar Prevette of Garner.

Prevette was charged with breaking into the NCSU Transportation Department and stealing assorted items on Oct. 23, 2001. Among the items stolen were CPU chips, hand-held printers and hard drives totaling $18,950.

Prevette has been charged with one count of felony breaking and entering and one count of felony larceny. He was released on $20,000 bond and will be back in court next month.

Officers are continuing to investigate the case and are diligently working to recover the property.
