Speeding Driver Hits Vehicle Carrying Mother, Brother; Mother Killed

One woman is dead after a tragic twist of fate in Wilson County Wednesday afternoon.

The State Highway Patrol said 18-year-old Yachterez Wood was speeding east along Wiggins Mill Road around 12:55 p.m. when he struck another vehicle head on.

Inside that car was Wood's mother Nancy, and his older brother, Andre.

Nancy Wood died at Wilson Medical Center. Andre and Yachterez suffered minor injuries.

Yachterez Wood was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
