The man accused for the murder of Rich Square Police Chief Joe White will face the death penalty.

District Attorney Valerie Asbell said she will seek the death penalty for Jason Hebert, accused of killing Police Chief Joe White in 2000 during a traffic stop.

Hebert was indicted for first-degree murder and armed robbery on Monday.

Asbell said she made her decision after talking with White's family.
