Some Chapel Hill Buses Running; No Garbage Collection Monday

The city of Chapel Hill has announced that the following town bus routes are in service:

  • J
  • CM
  • CW
  • CXP (Carrboro Express)
  • F (but not Colony Woods)
  • FCX (Friday Center Express)
  • HU (UNC Hospitals)
  • N/S (North-South Route)
  • RU
  • S (South Campus, NC 54)
  • T (Airport Road, UNC Hospitals)
  • U
  • All Parks and Recreation organized activities are canceled Monday.

    Town Public Works crews will continue to spread salt/sand mixes on roads, bridges and overpasses.

    There are two traffic signals that are operating in flash mode: Rosemary Street at Columbia Street and Hillsborough Street at Airport Road. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use particular caution at these areas.

    There will be no garbage collection Monday.

    Town Hall is open, as are the Chapel Hill Community Center, Hargraves Community Center and the Chapel Hill Public Library.

    On-street sledding is not permitted in the Town of Chapel Hill. But the following areas have been designated as off-road sledding areas:

  • The hill on the Community Center grounds near the playground.
  • The Homestead Park parking lot and incline parallel to it by the skateboard park.
  • The spur section of the Bolin Creek Greenway to Elizabeth Street.
