Three Fayetteville State Students Charged In Rape

Fayetteville State University

students have been charged in the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl.

Justin Maxwell Wallace, 18, of Thomasville, is charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree rape. His bail was set at $100,000.

Tarr V. Harris and Jermaine Richardson, both 18, each were charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree sexual offense. Harris' bail was set at $75,000 and Richardson's was set at $80,000.

FSU campus police said the girl visited the campus over the weekend and that she was sexually assaulted late Saturday and early Sunday in Vance Hall, a male dormitory.

Campus police said the girl reportedly ran away from home on Friday and went to campus looking for a place to stay. Authorities said the victim knew one of the suspects and went to him for help. He told her she could stay with him.

"It's unfortunate for the young lady she was here, its unfortunate we had students who took advantage of a situation. We have a lot of young people whose lives have been ruined," said Lauren Cook Wike of FSU.

Police said one of the suspects told them that the teenager consented.

FSU has distributed crime alert flyers on campus. Police are looking for three other men who were allegedly involved, two are believed to be students.
