A decision by the Wake County School Board could mean more money for schools in need of repairs, renovations and upgrades.

Tuesday, the board voted to reduce the inflation factor by one percent.

The inflation factor is extra money budgeted for new schools in case they cost more.

The change could free up as much as $5 million for other projects.
