Fayetteville's Anthrax Street Gets New Name

New street signs are going up in a Cumberland County neighborhood.
Anthrax Street will now be called Allegiance Avenue. County Commissioners voted on the name change during Monday night's meeting.
The street was named after a heavy metal band years ago, but last year's anthrax cases made homeowners uneasy about the name.
Allegiance Avenue, which is located in a subdivision just three miles east of Interstate 95, is home to seven families.
