Durham's economy received a major shot in the arm Tuesday when AW North Carolina, a Japanese autoparts maker, announced its expansion plans.
The company will double the size of its plant in the Treyburn Corporate Park, making a $160 million investment in the community and adding nearly 450 jobs.
The company hopes to start construction in the spring.
AW North Carolina first moved to Durham in 1998.
