The Cary Fire Department kicked off Fire Prevention week with an event at Fred G. Bond Metro Park on Saturday.
The park was used as a training ground to teach families how to prevent home fires.
Children ages 4-12 participated in a safety obstacle course featuring a 22-foot inflatable slide, stop, drop and roll station and “crawl low in smoke” simulation.
