WRAL News obtained 911 calls Wednesday detailing the chaos of last weekend’s accidental shooting inside Crabtree Valley Mall.

People initially didn't know what caused people to start running from the food court.

"We don't know what happened," said another caller. "We don't know if it was a fight or a gunshot."

The chaos was started after a ladder fell in the food court, which caused shoppers on the lower levels to believe a gun went off.

In the chaos, Allan Osvaldo Hernandez, 22, accidentally discharged his gun, which struck him in the leg and caused even more panic.

In total, there were 75 911 calls from the mall Saturday, including from Hernandez.

Hernandez has been cited with discharging a firearm in the city limits and carrying a concealed weapon.

Employees let people hide in stores during the pandemonium.

"A bunch of people just ran out screaming," said a third caller. "I just took the customers into the back and people are running around."

Hernandez was the only one injured during the incident. WRAL News has reached out to Raleigh police to confirm if it was a ladder that cause the initial panic.
