New video shows police searching Charlotte home of missing woman's boyfriend

New video shows investigators searching the University City home of James Dunmore, the boyfriend of Allisha Watts, a woman missing since July 16. The home was where Watts was last seen.

Dunmore was found unresponsive in the missing woman's SUV on July 18, the day before officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) filed a missing persons report for her.

Video sent to WRAL News from Watts' sister shows police going in and out of Dunmore's home Wednesday night. Police did not say why there were searching the man's home.

According to her family and friends, Watts hasn't been seen or heard from since July 16, when she was seen with her boyfriend, Dunmore, in Charlotte. Watts' friend Learen Blue said the 39-year-old traveled to Charlotte on July 14 to see Dunmore in her black Mercedes SUV.

Two days later, on July 18, Charlotte authorities found the vehicle with Dunmore inside. The SUV was in the parking lot of the Anson County DMV Office in Polkton.

Officers told WRAL News when they found Dunmore inside the SUV he initially told authorities he was taking a nap. Officers returned to the parking lot three hours later and found him unresponsive. The lot is frequented by troopers filling up their vehicles with gas.

Dunmore was unresponsive when he was taken to the hospital. His current condition and location is not known. Anson County Sheriff's Office said their last update on Dunmore's status was July 20, and he was still alive at that point. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police did not give an answer when asked about Dunmore's condition.

After the connection was made between the SUV and missing woman, CMPD and the Anson County Sheriff's Office searched the SUV. They also searched the surrounding area for Watts but did not find her.

Currently, Watts' whereabouts are still unknown. On Tuesday, the family was searching a field near Airport Road in Wadesboro after receiving a tip there may be evidence there.

Watts' sister, Stephanie Johnson, said this behavior is out of the ordinary for Watts.

"She is not the type of person that would just disappear and leave and not have contact with her family or friends," Johnson said. "She's loved and we want her home. That’s why we are looking for her, taking matters into our own hands."

"That Monday, the vehicle was still parked at a friend's house and the next thing you know, the car was moved in the wee hours of the night," Johnson said. "The next day the family filed a missing person report, and here we are today."

Family, friends ask Moore County community for help finding Watts

"This has been a week of pure torture," Blue said. "We just need help to bring her back."

Although Watts did not live in Charlotte, she was no stranger to the area. Watts regularly attends a church in Charlotte.

"She's a vital piece of the community, and she's involved in several organizations in our community," Blue said. "She gives back, she gives up her time. She gives her heart. She gives anything that she knows a person needs. She willingly, freely gives."

A release from Siler City police noted Watts is the CEO of Inspired Visions Support Services, Inc., which provides disability services to persons of all ages in several North Carolina counties.

"As far as touching base with the memberships of the organizations that she's with, she's very accountable," said family friend Dorothy Brower. "There's no way that she would have gone somewhere and not communicated, even while she was gone with some of her close buddies."

WRAL News reached out to the CMPD and are waiting to hear back.

Friends and family are gathering Tuesday night to pray for Watts. A candlelight vigil is being held at 7 in Southern Pines. Anyone who attends is asked to wear green, Watts' favorite color.
