From the 1970s to the 1980s, Underground Raleigh was one of Raleigh's hottest hotspots. It was a subterranean set of nightclubs, restaurants and an arcade.

The new underground jazz club taps into this nostalgia. It will not be a restaurant, but it will provide snacks and finger-foods to patrons while they listen to locally known artists.

Smedes York, developer of Cameron Village and chairman of York Properties said this club is not going to be for big performances like the Frog and Nightgown but be an opportunity for smaller artists to play and people to relax.

Construction is expected to be underway in the next 60 to 90 days.
