New immersive light festival moves into Pullen Park

Billed as a "light festival that aims to blur the lines between reality and virtuality through original storytelling and larger than life light art sculptures," LuminoCity also includes moving dinosaur sculptures and blooming Cherry Blossoms.

The LuminoCity Festival will be taking over Pullen Park in downtown Raleigh later this month.

Billed as a "light festival that aims to blur the lines between reality and virtuality through original storytelling and larger than life light art sculptures," LuminoCity also includes moving dinosaur sculptures and blooming Cherry Blossoms.

Note that while the Pullen Park Carousel will be open, it and the LuminoCity Dino Ride will require additional tickets.

General admission tickets are $25 for those over the age of 12. Children ages 3 to 12 years old are admitted for $18 each. Children under 3 years old are admitted for free. Ride tickets are $2. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.

The experience has been moving into Pullen Park over the past week and will open to the public on Feb. 18. The festival runs through April 9

The event is an evening experience running from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. nightly. The last entry will be at 9 p.m. and grounds.

The festival has been displayed at other locations across the country. Most recently, a holiday-themed exhibit was in displayed at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, N.Y. The 2021 festival was displayed in Fairfax County, Va. and Long Island, N.Y.

Pullen Aquatics Center, the Pullen Community Center and the tennis courts will operate with normal operating hours, but Pullen Park Amusements and picnic areas will be closed on the following dates:

Pullen Amusements close at 4 p.m. on these dates:

  • Feb. 18-20
  • Feb. 23-26
  • March 2-5
  • March 9-11

Pullen Amusements close at 5 p.m. on these dates:

  • March 12
  • March 16-19
  • March 23-26
  • March 30-April 2
  • April 5-9
