New COVID-19 testing sites open in Wake County
As North Carolina's daily virus totals keep reaching new highs, Wake County is offering free drive-thru COVID-19 testing at more sites to make the process quick and easy.
Wake County will offer testing Jan. 11-17 at the following parks:
Biltmore Hills Park
2615 Fitzgerald Drive, Raleigh, 27610
Buffaloe Road Athletic Park
5900 Buffaloe Road, Raleigh, 27604
Ting Park
1151 N. Main Street, Holly Springs, 27540
Hours are as follows:
- Jan. 11: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Jan. 12-Jan. 16: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Jan. 17: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Testing is also avilable Mondays through Saturdays at the following permanent locations:

COVID-19 tests are free and no appointments are required. The testing process can be as short as five minutes, depending on wait time, and most test results come back within 24 to 48 hours.
People can walk or drive up to the sites. They will be asked to fill out a form and will then administer their own test, a nasal swab, with supervision by a staff member.
“There’s no cost, no appointment necessary, no insurance needed, and no ID required,” said Eugene Chalwe, Wake County’s COVID-19 Operations Manager. “We need to stress, if you have any reason to believe you might have been exposed to COVID-19, you are welcome to be tested. You don’t even need a car at our drive-thru testing, you can simply walk up.”
