NCHSAA releases final girls soccer playoff brackets; First round slated for Monday

First round playoff games are scheduled for Monday, May 13, at the higher seed. All games will be played at the higher seed through the regional championships.

First round matchups are now set as the N.C. High School Athletic Association has released the final version of the girls soccer state playoff brackets, the final spring sport to enter the postseason.

The finalized brackets were released after the NCHSAA posted preliminary brackets earlier in the day, allowing schools to check for any potential errors.

The NCHSAA received the final conference standings as reported by each conference on Friday morning, then calculated the final RPI rankings, which are used for determining playoff qualifiers and seeding the brackets.

First round playoff games are scheduled for Monday, May 13, at the higher seed. All games will be played at the higher seed through the regional championships.

The girls soccer state championships will be played in Mecklenburg County for the first time. State championships will be held May 31 and June 1 at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews.
