At any point over the last year, about 14% or more than 5,100 NC State students reported experiencing homelessness and being unsheltered, according to data collected by Haskett, a psychology professor at the university.

NC State University sent out a wolf alert Monday night about string of thefts on its campus.

The wolf alert was sent at 6:26 p.m.

"University Police received reports of several thefts on campus, including bicycles and catalytic converters from vehicles parked on NC State property over the weekend," the wolf alert said.

The university said they do not have a suspect description but security footage is being reviewed.

The university is encouraging the community to take the following steps:

  • Close/lock vehicles and take keys when leaving vehicles unattended.
  • Ensure that outside lights are illuminated at night.
  • If you see any lights out on campus, contact university police.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the police.

Less than two weeks ago, NC State sent out a wolf alert about a reported burglary in a residence hall.
