NC State Fair plans 'best day ever'
The North Carolina State Fair is hoping guests will have their "best day ever" at this year's annual event.
The North Carolina State Fair is hoping guests will have their "best day ever" at this year's annual event.
The fair announced Monday that its theme this year is "Best.Day.Ever!"
The fair is planning Oct. 12-22 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
Tickets go on sale at a reduced price at the Got to Be NC Festival at the fairgrounds on May 19-21.
Other important dates to know regarding the fair:
- July 1: Contests announced, premium books released and the application period closes for potential vendors
- Aug. 1: Advanced tickets go on sale at a discounted rate at ncstatefair.org
- Sept. 6: Homegrown Music Fest line-up announced
- Sept. 15: Most competition classes close for entry
- Sept. 23 and 24: Last weekend of The Raleigh Market until November
- Sept. 24: The fairgrounds closes to the general public for fair prep
- Sept. 28: Walk-up ticket sales open at Gate 9 at the Fairgrounds, the State Farmer's Market and the N.C. Museum of History
- Oct. 1: N.C. State Fair Campground closes for public camping
- Oct. 12: Last day to purchase tickets in advance
- Oct. 12-22: The fair is open!
