Raleigh, N.C. — North Carolina State University announced Tuesday the addition of guard Trevor Lacey, a transfer from the University of Alabama.
Lacey, who started 52 games in his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, will have two years of eligibility remaining to play for the Wolfpack after sitting out the 2013-14 season.
“We are extremely excited to have a player with Trevor’s abilities join our program,” head coach Mark Gottfried said in a statement. “He is a winner and really understands the game. I believe he is a player that will blossom in our system, and we look forward to having him be a part of our team.”.
As a sophomore in 2012-13, the Huntsville, Ala., native averaged 11.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest and led the team in assists per game (3.2), three-pointers made (62) and three-pointers attempted (166).
A five-star recruit out of high school, Lacey was initially recruited by teams including Kentucky, Kansas, and Connecticut before deciding to play for the team in his home state.
