A new indoor pickleball and golf center opening in Raleigh this summer may be the largest in the state.

Pin Point Raleigh is set to open later this year at 2201 S. Wilmington St., south of downtown Raleigh.

Pin Point is advertised as "the largest indoor pickleball and golf facility in North Carolina," promising 16 indoor pickleball courts, eight indoor golf simulators, an indoor chipping and putting area, a full-service bar, a pro shop and corporate event space.

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country, according to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association. The sport combines elements of tennis, badminton, ping-pong, racquetball and volleyball.

Players hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball with paddles over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits an infraction. WRAL News has a complete guide on how to play.

Although pickleball courts are popping up in parks across the Triangle, some players told WRAL News there is a demand for more.

People can follow Pin Point on Instagram and Facebook for construction updates.
