Two Greenville police officers saved an owl that was trapped inside a family's kitchen on Allendale Drive.

Officers Hargett and Eubanks rescued the owl that was found "chilling" in a family's home, Greenville police wrote on Facebook.

The little guy, who the officers named Steve, accidentally found his way inside the kitchen through the homeowner's garage door, according to a Facebook post from the Greenville Police Department.

"After receiving a clean bill of health from Animal Protection Service officers, Steve was released back into the wild and flew home," the Facebook post said. "He was grateful to have made some new friends along the way."
