North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is investigating a complaint from a Mount Airy mom after a local Walgreens pharmacist provided her daughter with the wrong medication dosage.

The mother said she picked up a prescription for "Quillivant XR" on Sunday and her daughter took her first dose on Monday.

However, the mother said her 5-year-old became extremely sick 30 minutes after taking the medicine.

After consulting with a doctor, the mother discovered the dosage was five times the necessary dosage.

The mother said her daughter was admitted to the ER and doctors are watching her for any long-term side effects.
