NC Gov. Roy Cooper tests positive for COVID
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper tested positive for COVID, he announced Monday.
Cooper, a Democrat, said he is "feeling fine."
"I tested positive for COVID today, but thankfully it’s mild and I’m feeling fine. I’m working remotely for the rest of the week and ready to be back out and about by the weekend," Cooper wrote in on Twitter Monday morning.
For the week ending July 8, 133 people were admitted to hospitals in North Carolina with COVID, the 11th straight week that number was less than 200, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
The state reported that 9.0 million COVID-19 virus particles were found in wastewater samples statewide, a jump from 6.1 million particles the week before. It is the highest number since early May.
